For carpenters, joiners and fitted furniture makers who want more wardrobes, alcove units, media walls, staircases and sash work, and fewer odd jobs. We build your Google profile and a page for each thing you make, around the photos people buy from. Local SEO and Google Business Profile work is paid on results: nothing upfront, and nothing until the results we agree with you in writing, before we start, have been met.

ColourHaus resprays doors: Google calls +225%, May to August 2026
ColourHaus, in Leeds, resprays kitchens, interior doors, garage doors and windows: the closest of our clients to joinery, because it refinishes the doors and window frames a joiner might otherwise be asked to replace. George's firm, GS Renovation, in London, takes out load-bearing walls and runs renovations, work that carpenters often follow on site. Both figures compare the first complete month we measured with the strongest complete month that followed, as Google recorded them.

We don't have a carpenter, joiner or fitted furniture maker as a client yet, so neither of these is from your trade. ColourHaus refinishes doors and windows; it doesn't make or hang them. ColourHaus's Search Console clicks tell the same story: 176 in June 2026, 458 in September, a rise of 160%.
Sitecarpenter,benchjoinerorfurnituremaker:which one is Google showing?
Whichever your profile and pages say you are, so say it precisely. The carpentry and joinery apprenticeship standard splits the trade in two. A site carpenter prepares and fixes components on building sites and in homes; an architectural joiner makes timber components in a workshop. Homeowners use both words loosely, so your site has to make the difference plain.
Most first-fix work, the stud walls, joists, roof timbers and door linings, is won through builders and main contractors, not from a Google search. Second fix is where the homeowner searches: hanging doors, skirting and architrave, boxing in, a staircase fitted, a wardrobe built into an alcove. That is the work this page is about.
The demand is there. In UK figures from Google's Keyword Planner, averaged over the year to September 2026, 'carpenter near me' and 'joiner near me' each came to about 12,100 searches a month.
The second-fix carpenter
You go to the job, so the profile runs on a service area, not a shop address. Carpenter is the main category; the services list names the jobs in the customer's words, such as 'hang internal doors' and 'fit skirting boards'. Service area or address.
The workshop joiner
Stairs, doors, windows and one-off pieces made at the bench. Joiner, Stair contractor and Woodworker are all in Google's category list, so the main one follows the job you most want. Photos from the workshop show the buyer where their staircase is being made.
The fitted furniture maker
Wardrobes, alcove units, media walls and under-stairs storage, often designed, made and fitted by one small team. Cabinet maker and Furniture maker are the closest categories. You are up against national fitted-bedroom brands and flat-pack kit sellers, so the local profile and your own photos carry the weight.
Wardrobes,alcovesandmediawallsare chosen from photos first.
So the photos have to be on your site, named for the thing in them. The searches show it. On the same Keyword Planner figures, 'media wall' averaged about 90,500 a month and 'media wall ideas' 40,500, against roughly 1,300 for 'media wall near me'. 'Fitted wardrobes' got about 27,100 and 'fitted wardrobes near me' 3,600. 'Alcove shelving' and 'alcove cupboards' got about 3,600 and 2,900.
Most of those people are collecting pictures, not hiring yet. In a UK phone search for 'media wall ideas' on 21 October 2026, Google opened with a row of images, then put Pinterest boards and a strip of short videos from Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Pinterest on the first page. For 'alcove cupboards' the image row was led by an east London carpenter's alcove page, next to flat-pack kits and Etsy listings.
The calendar matters too. 'Fitted wardrobes' peaked in January, at about 40,500 searches, and 'media wall' ran at about 110,000 a month in October, November and January. Jobs photographed over the summer want to be on your site by the autumn.
Onepageforeachthingyoumake, with your own jobs on it.
A gallery page with forty mixed photos tells Google very little. A page for alcove units, one for media walls and one for staircases, each showing jobs you finished, gives it a clear answer for each search and gives the buyer the pictures they came for. Here is what goes on each one:
Your photos, not stock. Before, in the workshop, and finished, with file names and descriptions that say what they show: 'oak alcove units with fluted doors, Didsbury'.
The details buyers compare. Timber or MDF, painted or oiled, soft-close or push-to-open, how long from survey to fitting day.
What it costs with you. A typical price or a range, if you are happy to give one. People asking 'how much do alcove units cost' are halfway to a quote.
The same job, posted three times. On the page, on your Google profile, and on Instagram and Pinterest, with the Pinterest pin linking back to your own page so the saves lead to you. Do profile photos help you rank?
Each job written up by area, because 'fitted wardrobes in' a named town is how many buyers finish the search.
Staircasesandsashwindows:explain the rules your buyer is worried about.
Both come with regulations, and buyers search the worry before the joiner. 'Staircase renovation' was searched about 1,300 times a month in the UK and 'bespoke staircases' about 390. A page that explains what a new or altered stair has to meet answers the buyer before they have to ask.
For a private stair in a house, Approved Document K sets a maximum pitch of 42 degrees, a rise of 150 to 220mm and a going of 220 to 300mm. Our free stair calculator works out the risers, rise and going from a floor-to-floor height and checks them against those limits, which makes it a useful link from a staircase page. If you make stairs, the BWF Stair Scheme describes itself as the only accreditation scheme of its kind in the UK, with members' design and manufacture independently verified.
Sash work sells to owners of period homes. 'Sash window repair' got about 1,300 searches a month and 'sash window restoration' about 480. The Planning Portal says a listed building needs listed building consent for any significant works, inside or out, and that conservation areas can carry extra restrictions. A sash page that says when repair is enough, and when the council has to be asked, settles the question those owners most need answered.
Firedoorwork:thebuyerisaresponsible person, not a homeowner.
That changes the whole page. In England, regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 says that in a building with two or more flats above 11 metres, the responsible person must check fire doors in the communal areas at least every three months, and use best endeavours to check flat entrance doors at least every 12 months. Managing agents and freeholders search for help: 'fire door inspection' averaged about 1,600 UK searches a month and 'fire door installation' about 1,300.
So a fire door page names the scheme you hold, links to your entry on its register, and stays well clear of any you don't. We never write a certification onto a page that you can't show us.

Win the map, and the pages under it. On a phone search for 'carpenter near me' set to Manchester, run on 21 October 2026, three local firms filled the map. Below them, the first ordinary results were directory pages, several of them for other cities altogether, Liverpool, Sheffield and Stoke among them. A carpenter with a sound profile and real pages has little to beat below the map. It's the same groundwork we do for other trades, shaped around joinery. Local Services Ads, the Google adverts charged per lead, do accept carpenters in the UK (Google); if they suit you, we quote them separately.
Your Google profile, with the right main category for the work you want, services in your customers' words, and photos of your finished jobs added as you send them. Profile management.
Memberships that buyers can check. The British Woodworking Federation is the trade association for woodworking and joinery manufacturing, with a find-a-member search. The Guild of Master Craftsmen carries out more than 30 checks on applicants, references included. If you belong, your site links to your entry.
Reviews: when the last shelf is up, we send the customer a simple request to leave one, and every review that arrives gets an answer. How to ask without breaking Google's rules.
Listings that match: Checkatrade, MyBuilder, Houzz, Yell and the rest, each showing your business name, address and number exactly as Google does. Which UK listings count.
Your numbers, in your portal each month: how often your profile was seen and called, and the clicks Search Console counted.

Whatpeopleask us
What does carpentry SEO cost?
There's no published fee. A one-person second-fix carpenter in a market town and a joinery workshop selling staircases across a county are not the same job for us, which is why the price waits until we've looked at your patch during the free analysis. Local SEO and Google Business Profile work is paid on results: nothing upfront, and you pay nothing until the results we agree with you in writing, before we start, have been met. The monthly fee begins at that point, rolls month to month and stops when you say; leave before then and the bill is zero. Websites, ads and social media are quoted separately. The pay-on-results terms.
Should my site say carpenter or joiner?
Both, in the right places. People search 'carpenter near me' and 'joiner near me' about equally, around 12,100 times a month each in the UK. Your main Google category should match the work you most want; the other word belongs in your pages and services, where it reads naturally.
I mostly work for builders. Is SEO worth it?
For first fix, probably not much: builders and main contractors find carpenters through people they know. It pays when you want work direct from homeowners, such as wardrobes, alcove units, staircases and doors, at your own price. The free analysis checks whether anyone around you is searching for the jobs you'd like more of. If you'd rather win more builder work, SEO for builders shows what builders' own customers look for.
I already post on Instagram. Why do I need SEO as well?
Instagram reaches people who already follow you. Google reaches the person who has decided on a media wall and is now looking for someone near them to build it. We use the same job photos for both, and each Instagram or Pinterest post can point back to the page on your site, which is the part you own.
How long before Google sends me more enquiries?
Nobody controls Google, so we won't name a date. Two things set the pace: the lead held by the firms ranked above you, which the free analysis measures, and the number of finished jobs you can photograph for the pages. No fee is charged before the agreed result is reached.
Will you work for another carpenter near me?
No, not one who competes with you. We sign one firm per trade in any one area, so while you're a client, the carpenter or fitted furniture firm chasing the same jobs near you is turned away. If a rival nearby signed first, we tell you before anything else.
I fit fire doors but I'm not third-party certified. Can you still market them?
We can market the work you're entitled to do, described honestly. The page says what you do and doesn't claim a scheme you don't hold. Some projects require a certified installer, which BM TRADA gives as one reason to join its scheme, so if you plan to apply to BM TRADA or FIRAS, that page can wait for the certificate. None of this is legal or fire safety advice.
Will you have to rebuild my website?
Not if it does its job. If another designer built a decent site, we build on it. If yours shows photos badly or takes an age to load on a mobile, you'll hear that in the video, and rebuilding it is priced on its own, outside the pay-on-results terms. More on websites for tradesmen.
