ColourHaus, uPVC and door spraying: calls +225%, May to Aug 2026
ColourHaus, in Leeds, resprays uPVC windows, front doors, garage doors and kitchens. It refinishes frames where they are, so it competes with replacement rather than doing it, and it sells to the same homeowner you do. GS Renovation, in London, does structural work and renovations for that homeowner too.

We don't have a window installer, double glazing company or glazier as a client yet. ColourHaus sprays windows, doors and uPVC; it does not install them, so its figures are adjacent proof, not proof from your trade. Its Search Console clicks also rose 160%, from 176 in June to 458 in September 2026. Every figure here sets a client's first tracked month against their best complete month after it.
Whatdohomeownerstypewhen they want new windows?
The product or the problem, far more often than the trade. Google's Keyword Planner, averaging the twelve months to September 2026 across the UK, puts 'double glazing near me' at about 8,100 searches a month and 'window fitters near me' 4,400. 'Composite doors' and 'bifold doors' got about 33,100 each, and 'conservatories' 49,500. Each of those earns its own page on your website and its own entry in your profile's services.
The big names are searched by name: 'anglian windows' draws about 18,100 a month, 'safestyle' 5,400. You won't take those. Your ground is the unbranded searches near your own yard, and the questions people ask before they ring anyone.
The year has one hole in it. 'Double glazing near me' fell to about 5,400 in December 2025, then hit 9,900 in January 2026, so the pages want to be in place before the new year, not written in it.
Replacement windows
uPVC, aluminium, timber, sash and flush casement each get searched by name. A page per material, with photos of fitted jobs and the energy rating you install to, beats one page headed Windows.
Front, back and bifold doors
'Composite doors near me' gets about 3,600 searches a month and 'bifold doors near me' 880. Give doors their own pages, not a line under windows.
Conservatories and roofs
Homeowners type 'conservatory roof replacement' roughly 9,900 times in a typical month, and 12,100 in January. They ask about the rules too: the Planning Portal says a single-storey conservatory under 30 square metres, separated from the house by external walls, doors or windows, is normally exempt from building regulations.
Repairs and misted units
'Window repairs near me' gets about 5,400 searches a month and 'double glazing repairs near me' 4,400. If you do them, they put your name in front of homeowners who will one day replace the lot.
Often a repair firm, and the profile set up most precisely for the search. On 21 October 2026 we requested Google's Leeds phone results for 'double glazing near me' from a SERP data provider. First on the map was a repair business with Glass repair service as its main category, 175 reviews and hours of 7am to 11pm, seven days. Second was a glass and glazing firm with 116 reviews. Third had six reviews and a 3.7 rating, so the review count alone doesn't decide it.
Under the map, six of the first ten ordinary results were Yell pages, most for other towns such as Huddersfield and Rotherham. Only one was a window firm's own page about Leeds. A firm with a proper page for its own town and products has room to move in a field that thin.
Categories decide which of these searches you're considered for. Double glazing installer, Window installation service, Glass repair service, Glazier, Door supplier and PVC windows supplier all appear on UK window firms' profiles, and Glazier is shared with windscreen firms. Choose the main one to suit the work you want to grow, and add others only for work you genuinely do. How to choose the main one.
Whatdoesahomeownercheckbefore you measure up?
That you can certify the job, that the windows meet the rules, and that someone backs your guarantee. Your site should answer all three before the survey is booked, because a careful buyer is checking them anyway.
Homeowners go looking for the paperwork. 'Fensa certificate' gets about 12,100 UK searches a month, more than 'double glazing near me', and FENSA charges £30 including VAT to order a copy online. A page that tells your customers which certificate they'll get, from which scheme and when, saves them that search.
Self-certification
GOV.UK lists six competent person schemes for replacement windows and doors in homes, including FENSA and Certass. Without a certificate, FENSA tells homeowners to expect a building control inspection and to 'allow a few hundred pounds' (FENSA). Any of the schemes can issue the certificate a buyer needs (Certass), so name yours plainly.
Part L in England
A replacement window must reach a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K or Window Energy Rating band B. Doors need 1.4, or a Doorset Energy Rating of band B, or band C if over 60% glazed (Approved Document L, Table 4.2). The timber allowance ended on 14 June 2023. Put the figures your products reach on each product page.
Energy ratings
The BFRC rates windows and doors from A++ to E, combining heat loss, solar gain and air leakage, which it calls fuller proof than a single U-value (BFRC). Put your products' ratings on the pages that sell them.
The GGF
The Glass and Glazing Federation asks members for at least three years' trading and two years' audited or certified accounts, and inspects their premises (GGF). Members selling to homeowners follow its Code of Practice, and it runs a conciliation scheme for disputes. If you're a member, link to your entry.
Doubleglazinghasareputation.Your website can be the exception.
Buyers arrive expecting pressure, so the firm whose pages are plain about price, process and paperwork stands out before anyone visits. Which?'s buying guide, published 22 September 2026, tells readers to turn away cold callers, warns about on-the-spot discounts valid only if the customer signs straight away, and says to get at least three quotes (Which?). Its Trusted Trader code bans cold calling and doorstepping.
That favours the honest independent. Each of these answers on your site removes a reason to keep looking:
A price guide. Typical ranges for a standard window, a composite door and a set of bifolds, and what moves the price. 'Double glazing cost' gets about 2,900 searches a month.
How the survey works. Who comes, how long it takes, and that the quote is written and stays open after the surveyor leaves.
The paperwork and the fitting day. Which scheme certifies your work, what guarantee you give and who backs it, and how long a house goes without a window or front door.
The honest answer. 'Is it worth replacing 25 year old double glazing?' is one of the questions Google lists for these searches. A page that sometimes says 'a new sealed unit will do' earns the trust that sells the whole house later.
Repairs, mistedunitsandboardingup:the urgent end of the trade.
These searches want someone now, so they're won on the map, on the hours you list and on a page that says what you'll do tonight. 'Emergency glazier' and 'emergency glazier near me' get about 390 and 320 searches a month, and 'upvc door repair near me' about 1,900. List late or weekend hours only if someone actually picks up then.
Google sells pay-per-lead adverts for this end of the trade: 'Window repair services' is one of its UK Local Services Ads categories, and there is none for fitting windows. So a repair search can show adverts above the map, and your profile has to be strong enough to be the next thing a homeowner sees.
Misted units deserve a page of their own. Approved Document L says replacing the glazing, or a window in its existing frame, is not providing a controlled fitting and does not have to meet its energy efficiency requirements (paragraph 10.6). Explain when a new sealed unit does the job and when a whole window makes sense.
Buyingdoubleglazingleadsor owning the enquiry?
Keep buying leads while they pay their way, but build something you own alongside them. A bought lead is often sold to more than one firm, so you start every job in a price fight.
The sellers publish how it works. Leads 2 Trade sends its Qualified leads out up to four times, its Premium appointments to at most three installers and its Hot Key leads, transferred live by phone, to one (Leads 2 Trade). Lead Pronto says a shared lead goes to more than one installer, an exclusive one is never resold, and exclusive leads start from £15 each (Lead Pronto).
The demand is with the homeowner, not the lead market: 'double glazing leads' gets about 40 searches a month in the UK, against about 8,100 for 'double glazing near me'. A call from your own Google profile is yours alone and costs nothing per enquiry. Checkatrade and Yell also run windows and doors listings; keep them if they earn. How the platforms charge.

The same few jobs, done properly and repeated, set up for how windows and doors are sold. SEO for tradesmen explains the approach for every trade. A website, ads or social media, if you want them, get their own quote once you've seen the analysis.
Your Google profile, with the category that matches your main work, services for every product and repair you do, and photos of fitted jobs, not brochure shots. Google Business Profile management.
A page per product and per repair: windows by material, composite and bifold doors, conservatory roofs, misted units, emergency glazing, plus one for the schemes and guarantees you actually hold. Each answers price, energy rating and fitting time first. What a service page needs.
Reviews: after each fit, a simple request to every customer. Replies go to every review. Asking within Google's rules.
Listings that agree: the GGF directory if you're a member, Checkatrade, Yell and the rest, all showing the same trading name, address and phone number. Which UK listings matter.
Your numbers: profile calls and views as Google records them, with Search Console clicks to your website alongside, in your portal monthly. How Google counts calls.

Whatpeopleask us
What does SEO cost for a double glazing company?
We don't publish a fee. A one-van repair glazier and a showroom fitting whole houses need very different amounts of work, so we price it after the free analysis, and the choice to go ahead stays yours. Local SEO and Google Business Profile work is paid on results: nothing upfront, and nothing until the results we agree with you in writing, before we start, have been met. At that point a rolling monthly fee begins, which you can end whenever you like. Leave before the result arrives and you've paid nothing. A website or ads would be priced on their own. The terms in full.
Is SEO better than buying double glazing leads?
They do different jobs. Bought leads can fill next week's diary, and many are shared with other installers. SEO builds enquiries that arrive at your number alone and cost nothing each, but it takes longer to build. Most firms run both for a while and drop whichever stops paying for itself. Your portal shows Google's count of calls from your profile, so you can compare.
How long before Google sends more window enquiries?
Nobody honest can name a date, Google included. It turns on how far ahead the firms on your map are (the free analysis measures that) and on the season, since searches drop sharply in December. For surveys in the diary this month, paid ads move faster, and we manage those as well on a separate quote. Until the agreed result is reached, you aren't invoiced for the SEO.
Will you work for another window company near me?
Not one chasing the same customers. We take one window and door firm per area, so the installer down the road gets a no while you're a client. If a rival nearby got there first, we'll tell you before anything else.
We fit and repair. Do we need two Google profiles?
No. One business gets one profile. The main category goes to the work you want more of, repair goes on as an extra category and as services, and each side gets its own pages on the site. In our Leeds check, the firm on top of the map had a repair category as its main one, so repair work is worth taking seriously.
Do we need to be FENSA or Certass registered to work with you?
No. We work with installers, repair firms and glaziers whether or not they belong to a scheme. What we won't do is put a scheme logo, a guarantee or an energy rating on your site that you don't actually hold. If you are registered, we make sure your customers can see it and check it.
We fit across a wide patch. Will we show up in all of it?
Not equally. Google names distance among the factors behind its local results (Google), so your profile is strongest near your own address. Further out, pages built on real jobs in each town help. Copying one page and swapping the town name won't: Google's spam policies call that doorway abuse. The analysis shows which towns are realistic.
Will I need a new website?
Only if yours is costing you enquiries. A site that works is one we'll happily improve, even if someone else built it. If yours hides the phone number on a mobile or squeezes every product onto one page, you'll see that in the video, and a rebuild would be its own quote, outside the pay-on-results terms. Websites for tradesmen.
Somebodynearyouissearchingforwindowstonight.Whose number do they find?
Send us your town and the windows, doors or repairs you want more of. Inside two working days, a short recording lands in your inbox: which window searches you turn up in now, the firms and directories ranked over you, and the work needed to overtake them. Keep it whatever you decide. If we can't see a way to win your area, we'll say that plainly in the recording.
