SEO for kitchen companies, from first search to fitting day.

For kitchen showrooms, independent fitters and the worktop, bathroom and respray firms that work alongside them. We set up your Google profile and pages around how a kitchen is really bought: months of browsing, a design visit, a deposit, then fitting. Local SEO and Google Business Profile work is paid on results: there is nothing to pay upfront, and you pay nothing until the results we agree with you in writing, before we start, have been met.

  • You take a deposit. We don't: no fee until the agreed result is met

They sit either side of the buyer's choice. GS Renovation, in London, puts in whole new kitchens as part of its renovation work, often after knocking a wall through. ColourHaus, in Leeds, resprays the existing kitchen so it doesn't need replacing, and its clicks from Google rose 160% from June to September 2026 (Google Search Console).

Neither is a kitchen showroom or a specialist kitchen fitter, and we have neither as a client yet. Worktop Worx, the stone fabricator above, has a site we built but is too new to show a fair before and after. Each figure runs from the first month we tracked to the best month since, using Google's complete monthly data. 'Shown on Google' is the total of Search Console impressions and profile views on Google Business Profile.

Showroom, fitter or worktop firm: Google needs to know which.

Each is a different business to Google and to the buyer, so each needs a different profile. A showroom sells design, units and fitting from an address people visit. An independent fitter travels to fit a kitchen, often one the customer bought somewhere else. A worktop firm templates, cuts and fits stone once the units are in.

A kitchen often involves more than one of you. In Houzz's 2025 UK Kitchen Trends Study, a survey of UK Houzz users with a kitchen project, 93% hired a professional, and kitchen fitters (45%) and kitchen designers (44%) were among the most hired. Nearly all (92%) upgraded their worktops, and the median spend was £17,500.

The showroom

Customers come to you, so the profile shows your address and hours that hold true. A staffed showroom can add a service area, but Google says a studio open only by appointment shouldn't list hours (guidelines). Kitchen Renovator and Kitchen Furniture Shop are both UK categories; the main one follows what you sell most.

The independent fitter

You go to the job, so your profile covers a service area and keeps your address off it (how to set it up). Often the customer has bought the units already: 'ikea kitchen fitters' gets about 1,000 UK searches a month, and Howdens sells only to the trade, so its kitchens are bought through a builder or fitter.

The worktop fabricator

You sell to homeowners, fitters and showrooms, and every job waits for the base units. 'Worktop services' is one of Google's UK Local Services Ads categories, its pay-per-lead adverts; kitchens, bathrooms and painting have none. Profiles use categories such as Countertop contractor, Granite supplier and Stone supplier.

How do people search on the way to a new kitchen?

In stages, over months: ideas, then prices, then a showroom or designer nearby, then someone to fit it. Each stage has its own searches. A firm whose site answers the early ones is in front of the buyer long before anyone asks for a quote.

The numbers follow that order. On Google's Keyword Planner figures for the UK, October 2025 to September 2026, 'kitchen design' averaged about 22,200 searches a month and 'new kitchen cost' 4,400. 'Kitchen showrooms near me' and 'kitchen fitters near me' got about 6,600 each. The chains are searched by name, 'wren kitchens' about 201,000 times a month, so an independent firm's ground is the unbranded searches and the questions.

The calendar repeats. In each of the last four winters, searches for 'kitchen showrooms near me' more than doubled from December to January, and 'kitchen sale' had its two busiest months in December and January in each of 2023, 2024 and 2025. So the design pages and the sale page need to be live before Christmas.

Each stage needs its own answer on your site:

  • Ideas: finished kitchens, photographed and written up by style, materials and area.
  • Prices: a straight answer on what a kitchen costs with you.
  • The visit: how the design appointment or survey works, and whether it's free.
  • The order: lead times, deposit protection and finance, if you offer them.
  • Fitting: who fits, how long the household is without a kitchen, and when the worktops go in.

What does a buyer check before paying a deposit?

That you're a real business, that their deposit is safe, and what the finance costs. The KBSA's advice to buyers is to walk away from any retailer that won't survey before quoting, to ask to visit previous customers nearby, and to get a written estimate covering every part of the job.

Your site and profile should answer those checks before anyone asks them.

KBSA, for showrooms

The Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association vets members when they join, including financial checks, and every member must have a showroom. Buyers search its member directory by postcode, and it offers free conciliation when a job goes wrong. A member's site should link straight to its entry.

BIFIS, for installers

The British Institute of Fitted Interiors Specialists, called BiKBBI until October 2025, keeps a register of installers who are independently accredited and background checked. It covers kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and worksurfaces. For a fitter without a showroom, it gives the customer something to check besides the van.

Deposit protection

KBSA members can insure deposits through its ConsumerCare scheme, but not every member does, and cover depends on the member registering the contract. In KBSA's words, 'no certificate no cover' (KBSA). TrustMark-registered members include financial protection as standard. If yours is protected, say so beside the quote form.

Finance pages

'Kitchens on finance' gets about 1,300 UK searches a month. Arranging finance is credit broking, which for most kitchen finance needs FCA authorisation, and selling at the customer's kitchen table rules out the lighter limited permission. Mention a rate or a monthly cost and the page usually needs a representative example (CONC 3.5).

SEO for worktop companies: lead with the lead time.

Put the date up front, next to the price. Stone can't be templated until the base units are fitted and level, and the fitter and the family are waiting on it, so the buyer wants a date as much as a figure.

The big suppliers publish theirs. Howdens aims to fit its quartz within five working days of templating, and templates only once the kitchen is installed with sinks, taps and appliances on site (Howdens). Wren says its quartz and granite take 7 to 10 working days to make after the template (Wren).

On the site we built for Worktop Worx, a stone fabricator covering London and the Home Counties, the lead time sits beside the quote form at the top of the page: fitted 5 to 10 working days from template. The same site says plainly that there is no showroom, because the templating and fitting happen in the customer's kitchen.

Buyers search for the stone before the firm. 'Quartz worktops' gets about 22,200 UK searches a month, 'quartz worktops near me' 3,600 and 'worktop templating' 170, and quartz was the commonest choice in the Houzz study (42%). So the pages go by material, and the templating visit is explained once, in full.

Kitchen respraying: how do you reach someone who wants a new kitchen?

Through the searches for replacing it, because that is what they type. Almost nobody searches 'respray or replace'. 'Kitchen door replacement' gets about 14,800 UK searches a month and 'vinyl wrap kitchen' 8,100, against 1,300 for 'kitchen spraying' and 880 for 'kitchen respray'.

Our ColourHaus case study puts it plainly: most people don't know a kitchen can be sprayed, and think the choice is living with it or ripping it out. So for this Leeds resprayer, most of the effort went into the questions people ask before they're ready to pay. Can these doors be sprayed? Will the finish last? Is it worth it next to new doors?

The site we built for ColourHaus opens with 'Refinish, don't replace' and sets a respray beside a new kitchen. When we ran 'kitchen respray near me' as a mobile search from Leeds on 20 October 2026, Google's 'People also ask' box asked what a respray costs and whether spray paint is any good on cabinets. Below a map pack of three Yorkshire firms, most ordinary results were pages named after other towns. That leaves the map, and pages that answer those two questions, as the ground worth winning.

If you spray uPVC windows and front doors as well as kitchens, SEO for painters and decorators covers spraying run as part of a decorating business.

Bathroom showrooms and fitters: more searches, separate pages.

Give bathrooms their own pages and profile services, even when the same team does both rooms. Bathrooms get more searches than kitchens: 'bathroom showrooms near me' averages about 18,100 a month in the UK against 6,600 for kitchen showrooms, and 'bathroom fitters near me' about 8,100.

On the profile, bathrooms go in as an extra category, Bathroom Renovator in UK listings, with each bathroom job listed as a service. KBSA speaks for independent KBB retailers, meaning kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms, so membership belongs on your bathroom pages too.

Accessible bathrooms bring a different buyer. A council Disabled Facilities Grant can pay for a level-access shower, up to £30,000 in England. But someone who starts work before the council approves the application may get no grant, and the council may pay the contractor directly (GOV.UK). A page that explains that order of events saves those customers a costly mistake.

If you're a plumber who fits bathrooms, SEO for plumbers covers the plumbing side.

Who writes the pages and runs the profile?

We do, each week, while you get on with designing and fitting. It is the groundwork we do for other trades, set up around how kitchens are sold. The rest of your marketing, from ads to social media, is quoted separately.

  • Your Google profile, set up as a showroom, a service-area fitter or both, with categories and services to match. Google Business Profile management.
  • A page for every kind of job, from full kitchens and fit-only to worktops, bathrooms and resprays, each with plain answers on price and timing. What a service page needs.
  • Write-ups of finished kitchens, naming the area, because KBSA tells buyers to ask about previous customers near them.
  • Reviews: every customer gets a simple request after handover, and each review that comes in gets a reply. Asking within Google's rules.
  • Listings that agree: KBSA or BIFIS, Houzz, Checkatrade and the rest, with one name, address and number. The citations worth having.
  • Your numbers: profile views and calls, and clicks from Search Console, in your portal each month. How Google's call count works.

Websites, ads and social media are quoted separately after the free analysis. How pay on results works

From first call to first result

  1. Free analysis

Tell us your trade and area. We record a short video of where you rank, who is above you and what would have to change. It is yours to keep.

  2. An honest answer

If your market is not winnable, we say so. If it is, we agree in writing what a result is and how it is measured, before anything starts.

  3. The work

Your Google Business Profile, the pages that need to rank, citations and reviews. One business per trade per area, so never your rival as well.

  4. You see every number

Clicks, calls and where you show up, in your own portal, straight from Google. You pay once the agreed results are met.

What people ask us

How is SEO priced for a kitchen company?

There's no price list. A design showroom in a city and a one-van fitter in a market town are different jobs for us, so the number comes from the free analysis, and whether to go ahead is your call. Local SEO and Google Business Profile work is paid on results: nothing upfront, and nothing until the results agreed with you in writing, before we start, have been met. That is when a monthly fee begins. It has no fixed term, so you can stop it when it suits you, and stopping before the result is met means you've paid nothing at all. Websites and ads have their own quotes. More on the pay-on-results terms and how UK SEO is usually priced.

My kitchens mostly come from referrals. Is SEO still worth it?

A recommendation gets a buyer to your name. What they find when they look you up has to back it: recent reviews, finished kitchens they can look through, and a design or survey process they understand. KBSA's advice tells buyers to visit previous customers and check for a showroom before paying anything. Search also reaches the buyers whose friends haven't had a kitchen done lately.

How long before Google brings in more kitchen enquiries?

We can't give you a date: nobody controls Google. Two things set the pace: how far ahead the firms above you are, which the free analysis measures, and how long your buyers take to decide, which for a kitchen is often months. If you need design appointments this month, ads are quicker, and we run those too, quoted separately. Nothing is billed while you wait for the agreed result.

Will you work for another kitchen company near me?

Not your direct rival. Each area takes one business per trade, so a showroom or fitter chasing the same kitchens near you can't sign up while you're with us. If one already has, you'll hear that on the first call.

Can my showroom rank in towns further away?

Partly, and the free analysis shows where. Google says distance from the person searching is one of the main factors in its local results (Google), so a showroom is strongest near its own address. Further out, we work on the ordinary results with write-ups of kitchens you've actually fitted there. A page per town with only the name changed won't do it: Google's spam policies class pages aimed at specific towns that funnel visitors to one page as doorway abuse.

Do I need to be a KBSA or BIFIS member to work with you?

No. Plenty of good kitchen firms belong to neither. If you are a member, we put it to work: your site links to your register entry, your details match it, and deposit protection appears only if your membership includes it. We never suggest a membership or a protection you don't hold.

Can you build the finance page on my website?

Yes, but the finance wording comes from you and your lender or broker. The FCA's rules decide what that page can say, from representative examples to when 'interest free' and 'no deposit' are allowed, so the approved wording should go on the page exactly as it was given. Our job is making the page easy to find and easy to read. None of this is legal advice.

Should I stop paying Checkatrade or MyBuilder for fitting leads?

Not while they pay for themselves. A mobile search for 'kitchen fitters near me' set to London on 20 October 2026 showed three fitters on the map, then Checkatrade, Trustatrader, MyBuilder, Yell and Gumtree as the first five ordinary results. The map is the part you can own: the reviews and photos on your Google profile stay yours, whatever happens to a platform. How the platforms charge.

Will I need a new website?

Not unless yours is holding you back. We work on a sound site whoever built it. If yours can't show finished kitchens well or crawls on a phone, the video tells you, and a new build gets its own quote, separate from the pay-on-results work. More on websites for tradesmen.

Kitchens are researched for months. Whose pages are your buyers reading?

Tell us whether you run a showroom, fit kitchens or make worktops, and where your customers are. Two working days later, you'll have a short recording of your market: the kitchen searches you appear in today, the firms ranked above you, and what puts them there. It's yours to keep. If we don't think the area is winnable, we say so in the video.
